Pastor Seth Carney
It’s been said he “has a calm old soul,” always looking to meet others and make people feel welcome! Seth grew up in small-town Oklahoma and later graduated from Oklahoma State University. He’s spent many years preaching, working in the community, and helping churches grow stronger, particularly through community outreach initiatives. His heartbeat is teaching the Bible in a way that makes sense on Monday morning — real, practical, and full of hope. He’s not big on titles or formalities; he’s all about relationships, authenticity, and seeing lives changed by Jesus.
His wife Angie is the friendly smile and steady encouragement everyone notices right away. She loves people deeply, has a way of making anyone feel comfortable, and brings warmth wherever she goes. Whether she’s welcoming someone new to Calvary Baptist Church or praying with a friend, she helps make Calvary feel like family.
Together, Seth and Angie love to travel, appreciate history, and enjoy playing Scrabble. They are grateful to live and serve in Raton — enjoying the scenery, the people, and the chance to walk alongside anyone who stops in, whether you’re local, passing through, or joining online.
